OVERCOMING SIN

OVERCOMING SIN

"We know that our old sinful selves were crucified with Christ so that sin might lose its power in our lives. We are no longer slaves to sin. For when we died with Christ we were set free from the power of sin. And since we died with Christ, we know we will also live with him. We are sure of this because Christ was raised from the dead, and he will never die again. Death no longer has any power over him. When he died, he died once to break the power of sin. But now that he lives, he lives for the glory of God. So you also should consider yourselves to be dead to the power of sin and alive to God through Christ Jesus." – Romans 6:6-11 (NLT)

SIN has become something people think they can't live without.

It is quite unfortunate that some Christians too believe that they can't do without committing sin.

The good news is that it is very possible to live without sin.

HOW?

There are four steps that lead to sin. Similar to these steps are also ways to live without sin.

THE STEPS THAT LEAD TO SIN

  • The thought/imagination brought by the tempter/temptation
  • The picture wrought by the imagination
  • The desire for the temptation and
  • The act of SIN itself

Similar to these steps are also ways to live without sin

HOW TO LIVE WITHOUT SIN

To live a sinless life, follow the four steps below:

  • Daily meditation and confession of God's word.(Joshua 1:8)
  • Pondering on the word meditated on(Psalms 119:11)
  • Making the thought (of the word) to become a picture/vision in your imagination.(Colossians 3:2)
  • The constant imaging of biblical pictures and visions in your imagination: This produces a desire to fulfil them.  Therefore, the acting of God's word becomes easy. (Make the HOLY SPIRIT your guide while following these steps).
